Obesity
Overweight and obesity are defined as abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that presents a risk to health. A body mass index (BMI) over 25 is considered overweight, and over 30 is obese. These problems include, but are not limited to, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke, fatty liver and more serious forms of liver disease, sleep apnea, osteoarthritis, gallstones, high cholesterol, gout, and certain types of cancer. Obesity can make many other medical problems harder to treat, lead to increased disability, and even raises the risk of early death. Obesity is a very complex metabolic disease and not a problem of willpower or self-control.
